The diaphragm coupling consists of at least one diaphragm and two shaft sleeves. The diaphragm is fastened to the sleeve with a pin and generally will not loosen or cause backlash between the diaphragm and the sleeve.


The difference between diaphragm coupling and other couplings:


Couplings are now receiving more and more attention from customers. Compared with gear couplings, diaphragm couplings have the characteristics of good elasticity, low noise, no lubrication, and easy maintenance. Coupling factories have received more and more praise, especially in the field of precision transmission, basically using diaphragm couplings.


Installation method of diaphragm coupling:


Before installation, the end faces of the two shafts should be cleaned, and the coordination of the key grooves on the end faces should be checked. After installation, all screws must be checked for normal operation. During operation, check whether the diaphragm coupling is abnormal. If any abnormality occurs, it must be repaired. In order to prevent the fretting and wear of the diaphragm during high-speed operation, the diaphragm bolt hole should be cracked and damaged. Solid lubricants such as molybdenum disulfide can be applied between the diaphragms or the surface of the diaphragms can be treated with anti-wear coating


Appropriate safety protection measures for couplings must be taken at various sites where human and equipment accidents may be caused by operating diaphragm couplings. The coupling diaphragm is composed of several groups of diaphragms that are alternately connected with the two halves of the coupling with bolts. Each group of diaphragms is composed of several stacked ones. The diaphragms are divided into connecting rod type and different shape of the whole piece type.


Disassembly method in coupling:


In the process of coupling disassembly, the most difficult task is to remove the hub from the shaft. For the hub of the coupling, a three-leg puller or a four-leg puller is generally used for disassembly. The selected puller should match the outer dimensions of the hub, and the right-angle hooks of each leg of the puller should be properly combined with the rear side of the hub, so that no slippage will occur when you apply force.


Work before disassembling the coupling:


When removing the coupling, the connecting bolt is usually removed first. Because a layer of grease, corrosion products and other deposits are deposited on the thread surface, the bolts are not easy to disassemble, especially for the bolts with serious corrosion.


Precautions for disassembling the coupling:


Disassembly and assembly are opposite processes, and the purpose of the two is different. The assembly process is to assemble the coupling according to the assembly requirements, so that the coupling can transmit torque safely and reliably.
