1. Rubber parts raw material problem


The failure of raw materials is mainly due to improper selection of materials and quality problems of the materials themselves. If the sealing material is incompatible with the liquid being sealed, it will swell and deform and cause failure. Uneven mixing of the rubber compound or accidental mixing of impurities during the mixing process, excessive additive content or segregation, pores, looseness, and poor interface bonding between the reinforcing phase and the matrix phase, resulting in poor performance. In view of the above situation, the countermeasures are to fully verify the product performance when selecting materials, purchase materials from regular manufacturers and control incoming materials.


2. Installation issues


This problem is typically rubber seals. On the one hand, it is the problem of compression rate. If the compression rate is too large, forcibly pressing in during assembly will cause local deformation of the rubber. On the other hand, the surface of the seal was scratched, and foreign objects such as metal shavings, sand or cotton yarn were caught. In view of the above situation, the countermeasures are to check the surface quality of the rubber seals before assembly. There should be no flashes, burrs, cracks, trimmings, pores, looseness and other defects. The geometric dimensions and accuracy of the seals should meet the standard requirements. Check the processing quality, geometric accuracy and surface roughness of the rubber parts of the sealing groove of the parts. Use appropriate methods to remove the burrs and sharp corners of the groove; check the cleanliness of the seals and sealing parts, and clean the seals if necessary; after assembly, check whether the seals are twisted, scratched, or eccentric. 3. Management issues such as storage and transportation


Improper management of rubber parts in storage and transportation is the main reason for their early failure. In view of the above situation, the countermeasures are to store according to the instructions of the rubber products, avoid direct sunlight, heat, and moisture; do not contact with solvent oil, grease and other solid materials; the storage temperature is generally 0℃~25℃ Room; shall not be stored in an acid or alkali environment; shall not be overloaded by heavy objects during storage.


4. Usage issues


During use, over-temperature, excessive stress, poor lubrication, and oil contamination may occur. Over-temperature will cause the rubber parts to age and reduce the service life, and the oil contamination will cause the rubber parts to age, crack, swell and deform. In response to the above situation, the countermeasures are to monitor the process temperature during use to avoid over-temperature, check the contamination of the oil in time, determine the oil change interval reasonably, and ensure the performance of the oil.


5. Wear and abrasion


The parts where rubber parts are used are almost all the friction parts of the product. Because rubber materials are poor conductors of heat, heat and surface damage are generated during friction, causing wear and abrasion. The wear resistance of rubber parts gets worse with the increase of temperature. In view of the above situation, the countermeasure is to try to ensure that the parts in contact with the rubber parts are smooth, so that the rubber products do not produce abrasion and abrasion.
